Prague’s best autumn 2025 art exhibitions and events

From classical paintings portraying Czechia’s aquatic artery to bold black-and-white photos depicting life in panel housing, autumn art exhibits in Prague offer an unflinching look at what it means to be Czech. The season is complemented by international talent, design festivals, plenty of pop art, and the opening of the Czech capital’s first digital art gallery. These are the must-see shows and experiences set to open your eyes in fall 2025.

Spanish painter Miquel Barceló, a heavyweight of European painting, presents a major show exploring the interplay between words, material, and image.

Marking 150 years since the premiere of Bedřich Smetana’s Vltava, this exhibition, a cultural plunge into the river that has inspired Czech composers, painters, and poets for generations, explores the waterway as both national symbol and artistic muse through works by Václav Špála, Jakub Schikaneder, and others.

Under the historic dome that once showcased the Křižík arches, 8 lighting installations, 10 interactive art studies, and 10,000 m² of projection space merge past, present, and future in an algorithm-driven, interactive experience.

New sculptural works from Kateřina Vincourová reflect on the body, intimacy, and social relationships. An exhibition that makes everyday intimacy feel both tender and sculpturally monumental.

This retrospective highlights the work of Dagmar Hochová, a postwar Czech photographer celebrated for her socially engaged lens on everyday life. Hochová’s photographs capture the poetry of daily life with rare warmth and empathy.

Los Angeles-based artist Alice Bucknell presents Persistent Worlds, an immersive exhibition exploring speculative fiction and ecology, visitors navigate four projects using game engines and video installations—Small Void, Staring at the Sun, Nightcrawlers, and The Alluvials—shifting between scales and engaging in cooperative gameplay that blends playfulness, reflection, and ecological imagination.

After the viral hit Českoland, satirical artist Tomáš Břínek (TMBK) returns with an outrageous interactive exhibition of sculptures, installations, and immersive satire. Come ready to laugh, poke, and play—TMBK’s irreverent humor jumps from memes into 3D reality.

A thematic exhibition curated by Kristýna Jirátová exploring the doppelgänger in art, psychology, and literature. Double vision, shadow selves, uncanny twins—this show taps into one of culture’s strangest obsessions.
