Korean and Toast Tales
Žižkov welcomes a duo of Korean-inspired bistros that are pushing flavor boundaries. Better than Clasico (B.T.C.) charms with its globally free-form menu, from chicken bibimmyeon to chilli garlic shrimp and oil tteokbokki.
Meanwhile, BBred has turned a viral 30-second video into a full-blown café phenomenon. Their colossal Korean-style toast sandwiches feature bold combinations like garlicky shrimp aioli, marinated beef with sriracha mayo, and a veggie-friendly omelette-avocado option. Drinks double as desserts: matcha lattes topped with a vanilla shortcake ball and tiramisu lattes are not to be missed.
Coffee Craft & Comfort
For coffee aficionados, Mazelab Coffee in Bubeneč offers a sanctuary. Single-origin beans, including legendary Geisha varieties, are brewed with care in a minimalist Nordic-Japanese-inspired space, making every cup a crafted experience.
Factory Kafe transforms industrial Pragovka into a sunlit brunch haven. Chef Jakub Čadina’s menu shines with eggs Benedict and a hearty full English, complemented by pastries from a mini-bakery and treats from Vršovice’s Káva&Dort (think cinnamon rolls, scones, and crumbly koláče).
Burgers and Bistro Bliss
Burger Bliss in Dejvice elevates comfort food with French finesse. Brioche buns cradle 21-day aged beef, paired with toppings like Provence-herb caramelized onions, Leicester cheese with chili and coriander, smoked bacon with cheddar, or comté AOP with BBQ sauce.
Romance and Parisian Pastries
For intimate, romantic escapes, Blumery Café, hidden in a former post office and from the minds of Letná's Kolektor, offers a whisper of German elegance. By August, all-day brunches arrive, followed by autumn dinners designed for candlelit sophistication. It's just opened in náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad.
U STOLU, just a short walk from Charles Bridge, brings Parisian café culture to Prague. Must-tries include quiche Lorraine, buttery croissants, pistachio canelé, and the café’s signature croissant filled with homemade ice cream—a whimsical treat to end any day.
If you fancy something elegant, the Augustine Sunday Brunch is a refined journey of flavors featuring Mediterranean seafood, a selection of meats and cheeses from local Czech farmers, and an assortment of desserts. Find out more: www.augustine-restaurant.cz
Czech Meets Japanese
Katchi, located between Karlovo náměstí and Palackého náměstí, is a bold new addition to Prague's dining scene. Spearheaded by restaurateur Štěpán Návrat and chef Sierra Holanová, winner of the inaugural season of the Czech version of Hell’s Kitchen, Katchi offers a fusion of traditional Czech ingredients with Japanese culinary precision.
The menu features innovative dishes such as duck ramen, beef rendang, wagyu steaks, and a Czech-Japanese schnitzel. The interior design is eclectic and immersive, enhancing the restaurant's experimental dining experience. Despite space limitations that evolved from the original duck rotisserie concept, duck remains central to the menu and is a must-try.
