If you’re flying into or out of Czechia this month, prepare for a major change at border control. Starting Sunday, Oct. 12, Czechia will be among the first EU countries to implement the new Entry-Exit System (EES), a move that could bring longer queues and new procedures for millions of travelers.

American journalist Mark Baker, who recently passed through Prague Airport’s Terminal 1 en route to the U.S., described the current situation as “pure pandemonium.”

“The queue was massive with no structure. I was in line for 90 minutes,” he told Expats.cz. “I caught my flight with just eight minutes to spare.” That kind of chaos could become more common in the short term as the EES rolls out.
