I offer counselling that combines professional expertise with a personal, supportive approach. As a lecturer and active researcher, I work within the scientist-practitioner model, meaning that my practice is grounded in both well-established psychological theories and the latest research. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural and Existential approaches to provide practical and meaningful support.

I have previously worked for an NHS trust (gaining 4 years of experience) in the UK and bring the benefit of having lived in three different cultures, which helps me understand and support the challenges faced by those adjusting to new or unfamiliar cultures. I offer help with a wide range of issues, including mild anxiety and depression, burnout, cultural and adjustment difficulties, stress and coping strategies, self-esteem concerns, self-development, existential questions, and implementing personal change.

I was overwhelmed by life in a new city—new job, new language, and burnout started to creep in. Following Ivan's structured approach, we used a different exercise. CBT thought records, breathing routine, values mapping, and others. His practical adjustment plan helped me sleep better, stop canceling plans, and even look forward to Mondays.

I’ve had a very positive experience working with Ivan during the summer. He was quite approachable and understanding, but he had also provided me with the structure I needed to overcome personal challenges. What I appreciated most was how Ivan helped me find practical ways to improve myself while also supporting me through the challenges of adjusting to a new culture. I now feel more confident and equipped thanks to our sessions.
