Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are rising rapidly all across Czechia, and foreigners may face unique challenges navigating the system when trying to access testing and treatment.

From syphilis to gonorrhea and chlamydia, infections are climbing, even as fear of HIV has massively eased and testing has become more accessible all around.

To understand the true scope of the problem, Expats.cz spoke with Czechia’s largest STD non-profit organization, the Czech AIDS Help Society (ČSAP), and a foreigner who struggled to access care in Prague.

We also explain, in detail, what to do if you think you have an STD, and the resources available: including free testing, treatment, and walk-in possibilities.
