The second annual Impakt Awards, which honor inspiring personalities who change the lives of others for the better with selfless work, has announced its final 10 nominees. The list was selected via public nominations, organizers said, and voting will run until the end of September.
“From the increasing number of nominations, we know that the award resonates strongly with the public. This year, too, we selected from truly extraordinary stories across the country. Not everything good is born only in Prague,” said Tereza Zavadilová, CEO of Czech media company Newstream and member of the Impakt Awards jury.

“The Impakt Awards have advanced to the next, very important phase. You can support your favorite [candidate] with your vote,” said project manager Katarína Krajčovičová from Newstream. Voting takes place on the Good Company Circle site.
The jury already knows its three favorites. Their names will be announced Oct. 14 at the Nová Spirála Theater at Prague’s Výstaviště, where Good Company Circle will host its largest conference on social impact.
This year’s finalists represent a wide range of causes across the Czech Republic. Some examples are:
- Michaela Danesová, director of the NAUTIS Kunratice center, provides care and support for children with autism and their families, creating inclusive spaces, and organizing camps and family programs.
- Lu Gregorová, co-founder of SOLA Pomáhá, brought national attention to menstrual poverty, distributing hygiene products and information to women and girls in need.
- Gabriela Kabátová, founder of the International Prison Fellowship, works with prisoners, victims of crime, and their families through restorative justice programs such as Angel Tree and victim-offender dialogues.
- Dana Pavloušková, creator of the Clothing Bank, established the first nationwide system for distributing clothing to people in crisis, delivering more than 46 tons annually through 240 partner organizations.
- Kateřina Růžinová, physician and head of the Czech Republic’s first Palliative Medicine Clinic, has advanced end-of-life care as a recognized medical discipline and educates both professionals and the public.
Other nominees in the world of work include journalist and advocate Petra Květová Pšeničná, healthcare innovator Kateřina Šedová, Pink Bubble Foundation founder Martina Smuková, reconciliation advocate Michal Tůma, and hospice leader Alena Votavová.
The jury also has notable figures in Czechia's workforce, including: Lukáš Kovanda, academic and chief economist of Trinity Bank; Tomáš Prouza, president of the Czech Trade and Tourism Association; and Monika Mašková, attorney and partner at PRK Partners law firm.
The Impakt Awards jury met earlier this summer at Prague’s Falkensteiner Hotel, where they reviewed the nominations. Organizers said the process combined both public input and expert deliberation.
