American stand-up icon Dave Chappelle will perform in Prague for the first time this summer, with a one-night-only show scheduled for July 20 at the Hybernia Theater, organizers Live Nation announced this morning.

The Emmy- and Grammy-winning comedian will bring his acclaimed brand of sharp, socially conscious humor to Czech audiences as part of a limited European tour.

Tickets, starting from CZK 1,190, go on sale this Thursday, June 26, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Attendees must print out their tickets and present them in paper form upon arrival.

As with many of Chappelle’s recent shows, the Prague performance will be strictly phone-free. Upon entering the venue, guests will be required to place mobile phones and other recording devices in Yondr pouches, which will remain locked during the performance.

The technology has previously been used at Prague concerts by artists like Bob Dylan and Jack White, and is meant to foster an “unplugged” atmosphere that prioritizes live experience and privacy.

“Mobile phones will be banned at this event,” said Live Nation’s Ondřej Pojzl, noting that designated areas will be provided for those who need to access their devices during the evening.

Chappelle, 51, rose to prominence in the 1990s with appearances in New York comedy clubs and film roles in titles like The Nutty Professor and Con Air. He gained international acclaim in the early 2000s for Chappelle’s Show, a groundbreaking sketch comedy series that tackled race, politics, and pop culture with wit and irreverence.

Since 2016, Chappelle has released eight stand-up specials on Netflix, earning multiple Emmys and a Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. His performances continue to draw praise—and controversy—for their unfiltered takes on modern society.

Another comedy show announced today

The Prague show marks a major addition to the city’s growing calendar of high-profile comedy acts, following the announcement today that stand-up Jim Jefferies will perform at the Prague Congress Center this December.

Jefferies, the sharp-tongued Australian comic behind five Netflix specials (including High & Dry), will perform at Prague Congress Center on Dec. 9, 2025, with his new tour, Son of a Carpenter. His style of humor mixed with storytelling nods at George Carlin and Billy Connolly.

Tickets (CZK 1,290–1,890) go on presale June 26 for Fource Friends; general sale starts June 27 via GoOut and Ticketmaster. VIP packages with meet-and-greets will also be available.
