The ministry, which already paid the fine, may still file a cassation complaint with the Supreme Administrative Court.

Parts of east Moravia and Silesia recorded an exceptionally warm night Thursday-Friday, with some areas not cooling below 24 degrees Celsius, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute reported. The warmest was Ropice near Třinec at 24.8 degrees. Meteorologists attributed the tropical night to warm air and wind. A cold front lowered temperatures in Bohemia, but Moravia and Silesia remain about five degrees warmer, with elevated fire risks due to dry, windy weather. Today will be slightly cooler, but still very warm, according to the ČHMÚ.
aviation Smartwings plane lands safely after engine issue
A Smartwings flight from Corfu to Brno was diverted to Preveza, Greece, Thursday, after the crew shut down one engine as a precaution, spokeswoman Vladimíra Dufková said. The Boeing with 189 passengers and six crew landed safely. Social media reports of an engine fire were denied; the issue was engine “pumping,” possibly from a bird strike. A replacement plane will transport passengers to Brno later the same day.
